I wrote my own blogging system a couple of months ago, but I used PHP and MySQL (I try to avoid any Microsoft products if I can).

It was much easier than I thought it would be, and in the end I only used one script of 126 lines, which includes the snippets of HTML that the PHP stitches together to produce the page.

A nice little bit of .htaccess magic means the user has no idea, and each article appears to be on an individual page.

I reckon once you start on it you will knock out the required code in no time! :-)

Yeah, it really erks me how they've made it ugly and annoying to add any more buttons to ie. I don't want a whole new line/toolbar for just two buttons (del.icio.us). This problem and the hiding of the file menu have turned me off to IE, which is quite sad because I liked it. I still have to use it but every time I do I get annoyed. So, I try to use firefox for most things, but it's got some annoyances of it's own. It sure handles the realestate use better though.

Thought I'd comment on your blog. Got bored, and just so you know the link for my blogspot blog - I don't use that one anymore. It's this one. :)

Thanks. It's from Blaugh (it advertises itself as the (un)official comic of the blogosphere), by Chris Pirillo. Click on the link to view the site and subscribe to the feed :-) Today's is pretty funny, think I might post that as well
